LONDON, United Kingdom — 16th November, 2009 — epay Ltd. (“epay”), a market leader in electronic payment solutions in the UK, today announces the addition of People’s Postcode Lottery, a UK lottery for local charities, to epay’s already extensive product range available through a national network of independent retailers.
People’s Postcode Lottery tickets are based on postcodes where each ticket in the winning postcode receives a share of the weekly £30,000 prize pot. A further £5,000 is shared between tickets within the postcode sector. Tickets can be purchased for £2 per draw or £10 for 5 draws from any participating epay retailer throughout the UK. 40p from every ticket sold goes directly to local charities, devoted to children's wellbeing, poverty relief, nature and wildlife conservation, community development and missing people, to offering an entertaining way for people to win while giving at the same time.
epay retailers will benefit from an extended product suite and an increase in footfall to their stores as the People’s Postcode Lottery attracts new consumers. The expansion of People’s Postcode Lottery will be supported by a UK wide TV and radio campaign.
People Postcode Lottery draws take place every Thursday and consumers can find out if they have won by visiting their local epay retailer. Results will also be published on www.winningpostcode.co.uk or by calling 0808 10 9 10 10. Prizes of up to £50 can be collected in-store and any winnings above this will be transferred in to the winners bank account.
Nick Kennett, Managing Director, epay Ltd added, “The People’s Postcode Lottery has created a fun way for people to help local charities. With our nationwide network of retailers, this is an exciting partnership to extend our product portfolio and help maximise the distribution of lottery tickets. Furthermore, our payment technology not only issues tickets and provide the latest results, but it will also pay out winnings of up to £50 – generating extra footfall into stores and increasing the incremental revenue stream to retailers.”
Jo Bucci, Managing Director, People’s Postcode Lottery said, “We’re extremely excited about our launch into the single play ticket market. Until this point tickets have been available as a monthly subscription via web, phone or coupon. Increasing opportunities to purchase across the epay retail network will enable us to reach a new group of people. This will ultimately help us to create more local winners whilst helping more local charity projects across the UK.”
