Bus Ticketing Services Launch across the UK


LONDON, United Kingdom – 13thSeptember 2010 – epay Ltd (“epay”), a market leader in electronic payment solutions in the UK, is adding Arriva to its portfolio of 50+ products and services.  The Arriva bus ticketing service will be available to epay’s network of 6,000 independent retailers from Monday 13th September 2010.

The opportunity for commuters to purchase an Arriva bus ticket via epay’s independent retailer network will launch across seven UK regions: the Midlands, North East, North West & Wales, Scotland West, Shires & Essex, Southern Counties and Yorkshire.

People will be able to pre-purchase their Weekly or 4-Weekly Savers tickets at any epay independent retailer offering an alternative and more convenient experience that helps ensure a smoother and speedier boarding process benefiting all bus users.  For the independent retailer it also opens the opportunity for impulse purchases of other products whilst customers purchase their bus tickets in-store.

The addition of Arriva adds to epay’s range of transport services and products both in the UK and abroad. In the UK, epay already offers the Central London Congestion Charge whilst in Poland epay handles a contactless, stored value, smartcard for travel on public transport and in Australia the Queensland motorway roll toll.

Additionally, the launch of Arriva bus ticketing to epay’s product portfolio also offers Arriva access into epay’s extensive multiple retail base which will in turn ensure greater convenience to the consumer through a wider distribution network.
